Michael Phelps Swim Spa vs. SwimEx Pools
Compare SwimEx To Michael Phelps Swim Spa
For over 25 years, SwimEx has been the leader and innovator when it comes to resistance swim in place pools. When comparing a SwimEx with a Michael Phelps swim spa, it is important to consider these qualities:
- Water Flow and Return System
- Construction Quality
- Custom Options
Why the "Wall of Water" Works Better
Both the SwimEx and the Michael Phelps swim spa offer a better flow than standard jetted lap pools or swim spas. The Phelps spa uses a propeller or what they call wave flow technology to push the water and it is focused in the middle of the pool. It is a narrow flow and, depending on the swimmer, may be too narrow for effective swimming.
Using its paddlewheel technology, SwimEx Pools PULL the water to the rear of the pool rather than pushing the water at you. ONLY SwimEx has a built-in return system for the water to make a smooth continuous loop without the turbulence created by the water hitting the back wall in the Michael Phelps swim spa or other swim spas. In swim spas without a separate water return channel, there is no way to avoid turbulence and choppy water flow at the faster speeds. The SwimEx built-in return channels allow for a much smoother, wider and deeper current than a Michael Phelps swim spa. You can be anywhere in the pool and still take advantage of the current. Imagine a consistent wall of water as wide as the pool and up to 30" deep. SwimEx offers the deepest and widest current flow on the market. The SwimEx water flow is ideal for swimming but deep and wide enough for running and aerobic exercising as well.
Finally - it's about the flow: the current in a SwimEx pool has 99 speed settings and moves up to 30,000 gallons per minute in a smooth river-like current.
Built to Last...Easy to Maintain
The Michael Phelps swim spa is made of acrylic. Acrylic surfaces are hard to repair should you get a crack or blister. The finish never looks the same after a repair, and does not stand up to UV rays in an outdoor application.
Made from strong fiberglass composite, SwimEx pools have the same durable construction as fiberglass boats. The proven design formula sandwiches a balsa wood core between layers of fiberglass, resin and gelcoat for an indestructible, low maintenance pool wall with no liners to replace. Our gelcoat will stand the test of time under the harshest UV conditions. Any damage caused in the field can be repaired easily and you will never know where it was when the repair is complete. With confidence in our construction, SwimEx proudly offers the best warranty in the industry.
