Triathlon Training with a SwimEx Pool – Fitness Journal

Hi again.  Welcome to anyone following my progress.  Although February was a short month I was able to get in some solid training with 23,900 yards of swimming, 113 miles of running and 428 miles of biking.  I avoided chocolate and all carbonated beverages and caffeine for the month and lost 5 pounds.  I finished off the month with a 3 mile race where I finished 1st in my age group with a time of 18:46 (NorCal in Redding California).  This is a picture of me at the finish in front of the Sacramento River.  I am very proud that my wife and three of my sons also raced on Saturday.  It is important to me to set an example of living a healthy lifestyle for my family.

Ironman CDA is only 16 weeks away, so I have a long way to go to be ready for that race.  Although there is still ice on the lake I will be swimming in for the race, my long swim tomorrow of 3000 yards will be in my SwimEx at a cozy 80F, wish me luck!!!  Later this week will be a long bike ride of 75 miles and a long run of 12 miles.  It is time to start building those miles.  Tune in next month to see how things are going and enjoy your pools.  Thanks again to gang at SwimEx for letting me share my journey with you. – – Stephen Bratton, Proud 500OS owner and Ironman”comment
